January 2008 - Automatan Model EM
Swanline are proud to announce the installation of Europe's largest format litho laminating machine, the Automatan Model EM. The machine offers complete versatility to laminate ultra large format printed sheets to substrates ranging from 1mm to 20mm in caliper and with a maximum sheet size of 2030mm x 3050mm. In addition, the equipment can be used to spot position a label onto a regular glued seam carton, thereby enhancing its graphic appeal.
Said Nick Kirby, "This investment is influential for our plans to diversify Swanline into parallel uncontested markets that have huge potential for our clients to develop and progress. Where appropriate, we can now provide a credible alternative to screen printed Point-of-Sale displays and packaging that require large format technology and the technical design expertise that we already provide. Applications for this process are literally limited by a designer's imagination!" See Large Format

November 2006 - CAD Design
Swanline have installed the UK's first AG/CAD KMC1680 Sample Table, with a cutting size of 1600 x infinity and in so doing launch their Constructional Design trade service.
Richard Towers said, "This is a natural progression for us in that it fulfills the missing link between an enquiry and an order. Previously we were unable to advise a customer of the most economical design or production route, as prior to our involvement, this was always pre-determined."
The decision to buy the KMC1680 was based on the added benefit provided by the new belt-drive cutting system and auto sheet-feed facility, which allowed the machine to be used for small production runs. See Constructional Design

August 2006 - Installation of Speciality Gluer
Swanline has systematically continued its strategy to invest in specialist trade markets, the latest is the installation of an Andrew & Suter Supernova Speciality Gluer. This equipment supplements the screen print, litho laminating and die-cutting services, which in turn are offered autonomously to each other.
Nick Kirby said, "This is an important move for Swanline as it enhances the other services that we are able to offer, thereby giving a client the ability to purchase a complete manufacturing service, effectively as a one-stop-shop. This is all offered with the same guarantee of confidentiality and the added advantage of direct deliveries to our customer's client using their own Delivery Notes." See Gluing & Hand Finishing

November 2004 - New Factory
Following a consistent growth in turnover since 2001, Swanline Print has re-located into a purpose built 40,000 ft sq building on the Whitebridge Business Park in Stone. This move facilitates all of the trade services being offered from under one roof with the added benefits of increased efficiencies and improved service levels.
Nick Kirby said, "This move is critical for us to sustain the growth plans that we have for the company and is in line with our strategy to introduce further value added services to our clients."
The move follows a period of intense activity following the introduction of Swanline's laminating and auto die-cutting services that were previously carried out across two previous sites.
